God At Work: ================================/

To proclaim God’s glory, you shared with us…

From a listener with Nancy Grayson RT in Shippensburg:

One of my students was picking out his stickers for saying his verses and was picking them out based on important people in his life.  There was one lonely little flower on the bottom corner of his bible and was the only sticker he didn’t give me an explanation for so I asked.  He said “The flower represents you.  You have helped me grow!”  I almost began crying but held it in!  That reminded me why I do RT.

From Conewago RT in Dauphin County:

While at the last day of Conewago DC’s Released Time, the teacher showed the children how to fold paper and cut it so that it unfolded into a cross. One boy asked his listener to place his cross on his grandfather’s grave, which was just outside the church where they were meeting that day. So the boy and his listener went together to his grandfather’s grave and taped the cross to the grave stone.

Do you want to share with us how you witnessed God working through Released Time, 4.12 Leadership Training, or our camping programs? We’d love to hear from you. Email your stories to Jeanette.

Volunteer Spotlight: ================================/

/files/PublicationPhotos/Doris.jpgDoris Barrett enjoys helping the staff in a variety ways. She’s stepped in to help the office staff do mailings, prepare Released Time materials, and check in campers for summer camp as well as other tasks. She originally became involved as a volunteer when her sons were young and her oldest first started Released Time. He began at South Hamilton and Doris began helping at first one Released Time and then eventually at three different Released Times. She’s served as a teacher, a listener and a secretary through the years. In fact, 3 of her 4 sons eventually earned free camp through memorizing verses.

Today her volunteer work is primarily at the Joy El offices located at Camp Joy El. One reason Doris volunteers with Joy El is that she loves the fellowship of other believers. She also sees her involvement as her ministry to the Lord. She says, “It’s fun to come up to camp and be with others who love and serve the Lord.” For anyone thinking about volunteering, Doris recommends they give it try. “It’s a way to use the gifts God gives us to glorify him.”

Practical Needs: ================================/

***As the Lord leads, would you consider helping advance God’s kingdom in the lives of children and teens through these practical ways?

  • New go-kart
  • Lodge room carpeting
  • Mattresses for our lodge rooms and first aid station
  • “Gently-Used” economy car

Now you can donate online here: Donate. Or mail your gift to us at 3741 Joy-El Drive, Greencastle, PA 17225.

***Are you blessed with handyman skills or enjoy cleaning and organizing? Camp Joy El is in need of volunteers to serve in many areas but in particular in the following capacities:

·         On our Monday morning ELVES crew. Our ELVES crew helps clean up and neaten the facilities after a busy weekend of retreats when guests have departed.

·         On our Tuesday maintenance volunteers crew. The maintenance crew assists our Maintenance Coordinator with maintaining the facilities to keep everything in working order.

These volunteer roles are excellent opportunities for retirees! If you or someone you know may be interested in helping, please contact steve@joyel.org  717-369-4539.

Please Pray and Praise Him for: ======================/

Praise for the 336 children who have begun a relationship with Jesus since September 1st.

Pray for a safe summer for everyone at Camp Joy El: during travels to and from, during activities on-site and off-site. Pray also for good health for all our staff and campers.

Pray that God will stir many individuals to give towards our campership fund as requests continue to pour in. Our current need is $17,221.00.

For more praise and prayer needs, see a complete list at: Top Ten Prayer.
