We are currently looking for college-age individuals to serve on our Summer Staff. These are temporary summer positions and the candidates filling these roles will reside at Camp Joy El during the summer camp season.

Available Positions and Descriptions
Senior Counselors: The purpose of this position is to provide direct care for the camper. The purpose is not limited to just the physical care, but also includes the emotional, social and spiritual needs as well. Mentoring of the junior counselors is also part of the responsibility. Candidates must be a high school graduate or older.
Lifeguard: The purpose of this position is to care for the pool and pool equipment, safeguard and care for campers while at the pool, provide basic instruction in swimming, and assist with other activities at camp as needed.
Dining Room Host/Hostess: The purpose of this position is to assist the Food Services Coordinator in meal preparation and service, overseeing the upkeep of the Dining Hall and kitchen, and providing leadership to the junior staff members on the work crews during meals. The host/hostess will also assist with other activities at camp as needed.
Canteen and Camp Store Coordinator: The purpose of this position is to oversee the operations and stocking of the camp store and canteen. This coordinator logs and tracks camper payments into campers "banks," maintenances both the store and canteen, coordinates with the business office and the food service coordinator on the processing of income and ordering of supplies and with the summer leadership on scheduling of open hours. The coordinator oversees counselor staff who sell snack items from the canteen. The coordinator will assist with other activities at camp as needed.
Maintenance Assistant: The purpose of this position is to assist the Maintenance Coordinator in upkeep of the camp facility. Responsibilities include lawn mowing, trash removal, and minor repairs as needed. The assistant will also help with other activities at camp as needed.
Office Assistant: The purpose of this position is to assist the Camping Ministries Assistant in with registration processing, reception duties, other office tasks, and to assist with other activities at camp as needed.
Media Specialist: The purpose of this position is to provide quality videos and photos for each camp (two camps per week) for promotion, memorabilia, and internet use. Skills needed are photography and video editing with an eye for what makes quality photos and footage. Media specialist will create video DVDs, photo CDs and internet albums, and learn to update/upload same to the Joy El website and Facebook fan page. This position will also assist the summer leadership team in the creation/operation of powerpoints for worship/chapel times.
